lgbtq+ representation in animation: the good, but mainly the ugly

*definite spoilers for Avatar: The Legend of Korra, Steven Universe, Voltron: Legendary Defender & She-ra and the Princess of Power.*

I'm going to discuss and examine four of the major culturally impactful queer shows & ships (in ! my opinion!) over the last 6 years to ask the question: are they good representation? i want to talk about the way the characters and relationships are written both before and after their queerness was announced and the impact of these choices.
