Two decades ago, a sonic storm swept across the shores of Byron Bay, changing the face of heavy music forever. Formed in 2003, ‪@Parkwaydriveofficial‬, the undisputed titans of Australian metal, have released seven full-length studio albums, all on Parkway Records: Killing with a Smile (2005), Horizons (2007), Deep Blue (2010), Atlas (2012), IRE (2015), Reverence (2018), and their latest opus, Darker Still (2022). Their rise has been meteoric, with Darker Still earning them their third consecutive #1 on the ARIA chart and winning the 2023 ARIA Award for Best Hard Rock / Heavy Metal Album. Internationally, they’ve stormed charts across Europe and the US, continuing to expand their global dominance.

Now, in 2024, Parkway Drive is set to return to home soil with their largest headline tour yet. The 20 Year Anniversary Tour promises to be a landmark event, bringing together USA heavyweights I Prevail and The Ghost Inside, plus Melbourne’s tenacious Void of Vision, to ignite stadiums and arenas across the nation. Kicking off on September 18 in Brisbane, the tour will hit major cities across the country. For Perth fans, the must-see event will land at RAC Arena on Monday, September 30. With a world-first production and a setlist spanning two decades of their relentless career, this tour is set to be an unforgettable celebration of Parkway Drive's meteoric rise.

This show will be more than a concert; it’s a celebration of Parkway Drive’s journey, a moment 20 years in the making. Their latest record, Darker Still, represents the vision frontman Winston McCall and his bandmates, guitarists Jeff Ling and Luke Kilpatrick, bassist Jia O'Connor, and drummer Ben Gordon, have held since their formation. In a special interview with Winston McCall, I had the chance to dive into the details of the tour, reflecting on two decades of Parkway Drive's evolution and their triumphant return to Perth. What a massive privilege and honour it was to speak with a frontman I have held in such high esteem for two decades!
