The Forgotten Honda | 1992 Acura Vigor LS Full Tour & Review

This is a very special episode of TestDrive Spotlight on my family's 1992 Acura Vigor that has been in our ownership since 1995. We don't normally film vehicles in this condition, but the car will likely be scrapped soon and we wanted to produce a video on the Vigor in general, and the likelihood of finding another is slim.

Acura launched their entry-level mid-size luxury car to the North American market for the 1992 model year to compete directly against the Lexus ES 300. Both cars featured frameless windows, 0.5L engine displacement per cylinder, front wheel drive, and based off their existing non-luxury brother's, the Accord and Camry.

My Poppa bought this specific car certified pre-owned from Acura in Mississauga, Ontario, in 1995 and owned it until it was transferred to my father. I had the pleasure of driving this car in my early adult life and grew up being curious about this Honda with a strange badge on the back. The car is at the point now where the next decision will be which scrap yard it gets sent to, so we drove 800km back to my hometown of Mississauga to film this car.

In typical TestDrive Spotlight tradition, we'd doing a full in-depth tour of this Acura Vigor, showing off all the exterior and interior features, taking it for a drive to see how it performs after 25 years, and go over a quick buyer's guide for those who are interested in buying one. That is, if you can track one down.

Finding an Acura Vigor for sale is unlikely. At the time of producing this video the Canadian and US AutoTrader websites had 0 Vigors for sale on the national searches. Since the Vigor has been a part of my life since I was young, I feel compelled to preserve one. Obviously this one is beyond saving, but we're putting the word out that TestDrive wants to adopt a 1992 to 1994 Acura Vigor GS in order to keep as a monument to the overall failure of the vehicle's life in the market.
