Kayaking and Hiking Pickett CCC Memorial State Park | Amazing Places in Tennessee | Kayak7seas

As the summer of 2021 is coming to a close we were still on the hunt for new places and new adventures. We found a spot in Tennessee that looked amazing. The pictures of Pickett State Park depicted sandstone bluffs, a natural bridge to kayak under, miles of trails to hike which peaked our interest. We drove the 3.5 miles to Jamestown, TN to check it out. We were quite impressed with its beauty. Pickett State Park is located in the upper Cumberland Mountains in Pickett County, and is adjacent to the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. The park was developed by the Civilian Conservation Corps between 1934 and 1942 on about 12,000 acres of land donated to the State of Tennessee by the Stearns Coal and Lumber Company. The park offers camping, kayaking and hiking. This Tennessee location is one of the states best hidden treasures and is well worth visiting.
