Dear families,

Today’s lesson objective is to:
-group shapes according to size, shape, and color
-create and identify patterns

Lesson Materials:
Shapes worksheet (found in your folder) or similar colored shapes in different sizes
Textbook and workbook pages for lesson 2

Assignment:
1) Watch the video and follow along in your textbook for lesson 2 on page 145 - 148.
2) Work on the same lesson in your workbook independently.
3) Upload a picture of your workbook pages

***Please write a number between 1 to 5 on your child’s assignment, before taking a picture as a way to give me feedback on how your child did on that specific lesson.


Additional Activities: (optional)

1) Block Sort
Materials: Attribute blocks, or a mixture of items that can be sorted by color, shape and size (ex. mix buttons, paperclips and crayons)
Instructions:
Have students sort and classify materials. Have students explain how they classified the objects. You can challenge students by including other attributes based on the materials you have. Example (soft materials, rough textures - rocks, cotton balls, etc.)

2) What's My Rule?
Materials: Attribute blocks, or a mixture of items that can be sorted by color, shape and size (ex. mix buttons, paperclips and crayons)
Instructions:
Player 1 starts sorting her materials, but doesn't reveal the rule or attribute that she is sorting by.
Player 2 watches the sorting and guesses the rule.
Then the players switch roles.
