The mini-lecture discusses how the medium of animation, sometimes dismissed as 'children's stuff', can be seen as expressing and debating concerns central to culture at a particular moment in its development. The animation discussed will be the American series Love, Death and Robots; the main concern observed in it will be the arrival and consequences of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, including the workings of artificial intelligence, genetic manipulation, human-machine hybrids and the looming threat of humanity's extinction.
