The Fish and the Fly - Top Shelf Hopper.

Here you can see the fly in action and learn how to ty the pattern I call the "Top Shelf" hopper. This is a single foam version but I also tie it in a double foam version for hopper/dropper rigs. Its been a really productive pattern for me over the last couple years.
Materials list:
I now use 2 style hooks
Tiemco dry fly hook 2312 sz 12-14 (use this for my single foam version)
Firehole terrestrial 718 sz 12-8 (mostly for my double foam version -hopper/dropper)
UTC 140
~2mm foam (I use foam from the craft section of Walmart) your color choice
dubbing - Hares/ice dub blend or any you like...I use superfine (esp for smaller versions) or hares ear at times also
underwing - gold krystal flash
