Manchester Metrolink 20th June 2022 - City Centre and Airport branch

Monday 20th June 2022 was a lovely warm, sunny day in Manchester and we took the opportunity to look at the City Centre in more detail and the entrance to Piccadilly Undercroft from the "Ashton end". We spent some time on Lower Mosley Street and in St.Peter's Square. In the St.Peter's Square sequence, please note it is not the tram that gets the trumpet fanfare but a press call to announce the Armed Forces Weekend in Manchester on 25th June 2022 - a very worthy event. Also note the annoying guy on the phone who walks round and round the St.Peter's cross monument many times - obviously not much work to do but will have got his steps in for the day without going far!
We then travel down to Manchester Airport and work our way back stop by stop to Wythenshawe Park - we covered the rest of the branch in our last video and slide selection.
In the next video, we will return to the Baguley area to capture more detail of the junction where on-street running separates the tracks in both directions. We will also look in detail at the Barlow Moor Road/Mauldeth Road area with its on-street running.
We will also cover the Eccles branch and part of the Altrincham branch before we complete the Altincham branch and move on to the north side to Bury, Shaw and Rochdale later in the year.
