Achison, Topeka & Santa Fe No. 2926 Steam Train First Excursion To Tractor Brewery Co. (May 2023)

In another milestone for No. 2926 and her team of volunteers from the New Mexico Steam Locomotive & Railroad Historical Society, she was fired up and run on her own power 4 blocks from the restoration site to Tractor Brewery Co. on the morning of May 6, 2023. This would be the first time 2926 has run down public tracks in 70 years. There she was displayed under steam as part of a fundraiser for the NMSL&RHS, with both ground and cab tours being offered along with merch.

They still have a long ways to go before the locomotive will be in a position to haul main line excursions between Albuquerque and Las Vegas, NM, but this is certainly a step in the right direction. Please head over to https://2926.us/ and give them your support! Enjoy =)
