Dr. Javaid Akram is the current Vice Chancellor of University of health sciences. Previously he worked the principal of Allama Iqbal Medical College. However, he was the first Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University. In the interview with Career Karwan, Dr. Javaid Akram shared his unique struggle to become a self-made successful man.

Dr. Javaid belonged to a legally dominating family as his ancestors have been in the elite politics. Besides Dr. Javaid's father has served as the Justice in High court. He is the first Doctor in the family. He shared that he started his struggle to become a doctor on his mother’s wish. He further told career Karwan that he decided to lead his own life after becoming a doctor. He went to England for higher education but he took no financial assistance from his family as he believed in self-reliance and self-achievement. After years of hard work, he was appointed as registrar at Hal Roye medical University.
He came to Pakistan when his father fell sick. He decided to remain in Pakistan as per his father’s wish.
