In this part, I complete stage 8 and most of stage 9.

Stage 8 was a significant spike in difficulty compared to the previous stages. In fact, I would say it was the hardest stage in the entire game. The main reason for that was due to the sinking platforms, or rather, almost all of the platforms in this stage. Because of this, I had a strong incentive to keep on moving forward, and avoid taking engagements when necessary. Although, this led me to miss several power-ups and secrets. I will have to replay this later to locate them.

The enemies were thankfully less challenging both in terms of composition and individual strength, but the stage itself made them more difficult to take on.

Thankfully, the lava was not instant death, and the stage length itself was rather short. Even the boss I felt was less challenging than the Train boss in the previous stage.

Stage 9 was definitely a step down in terms of challenge. Though, this stage focused heavily on enemy based challenges instead of environment based ones in stage 8. I'm surprised I didn't face all the toughest enemies from the previous stages though. This seemed like the perfect place to put them, being the final stage after all.
