Summary:
For reasons unknown Arwen breaks up with Aragorn, and he is devastated. Shortly thereafter Legolas arrives for the Council of Elrond, and can see his best friend's pain. It breaks his heart to help Aragorn work through his feelings for Arwen, because Aragorn is his hearts one true desire, but he cannot walk away from him. Aragorn pledges himself to the quest in the hopes that he will find death and end his agony. Legolas sees what he is doing, and pledges himself to the quest as well so that he can protect him. When Legolas has seen him attempt to throw his life away one too many times, he confronts Aragorn, and accidentally reveals his deepest secret. Aragorn wonders how he never knew, and as he thinks about Legolas again and again, he begins to view him differently, and just when they begin to build something new... Arwen decides she wants Aragorn back.
