► ABOUT THIS HIKE - I did this hike on 18 June 2024 , everything I have managed my self food , gears or accommodation Starting from the quaint mountain village, Janglik, the Buran Ghati Trek is unique in its rights. Many Himalayan treks in India provide exquisite views of some of the most scenic landscapes. This being said, not all sections of the trek are equally beautiful and we humbly accept this fact. However, when it comes to Buran Ghati, it’s as if all the best parts of the Himalayan trails were handpicked and assorted along the Buran Ghati Trek. The entire trail is filled with immeasurable beauty making one perfect trek. Never will you feel bored at any single point of the trek, which makes it such a favorite among trekkers and shutterbugs alike.

The Buran Ghati Trek has a lot to offer. From dense thickets of Oak and Pine to an abundance of exotic Himalayan flora. Many streams glisten along the lush meadows along with the sacred Candranahan Lake, which remains frozen almost all year round. You will pass by villages that seem untouched by civilization and give a glimpse into mountain life. Pass through orchards of apples, peaches, pears, and apricots near the Barua village and witness spectacular views of the Buran Pass, all in the same trek!
on first day Trek from the beautiful Janglik village towards the pine forests. You get a treat through shady trees of the forest, and streams running across the trail. You get blown by the first sight of the Dayara campsite. Explore the campsite and look at the sheep, and horses grazing the lush meadows.
on day 2 Watch out for the lovely silver birch section and the small forest section before you hit the meadows and approach the bigger mountains. Enjoy the sounds of the Pabbar River at the campsite.
on day 3 Exciting day hike without your backpack to the snout of the waterfall and then towards a series of glacial lakes. Do not forget to turn back to see a change in scenery as you enter the alpine region.
on day 4 Your day takes you from the meadow region towards the alpine zone. The view of the Buran Ghati Pass and Gunas Pass gives you butterflies in your tummy with nervous excitement for the big day.
on day 5 The adventurous climb to the Buran Ghati. What's more adventurous is the descent from the pass to the other side. In summer, it's about 400 metres of rappelling down through a steep ice wall. In autumn, it's a steep descent to through the boulders
on day 6 The trail is full of surprising changes in scenery that make it an absolute delight. It is difficult to find another trek that has so much diversity in forests while descending. Watch out for the maple, and walnut trees as you trek towards the apple orchards. Also, watch out for the houses built with stones and wood, a small waterfall, and while entering Barua village.
