The Defence Research and Development Organisation's (DRDO) Institute for Systems Studies and Analyses (ISSA) has achieved a major milestone by handing over the indigenously developed Simulation Testbed for Electronic Pilot to the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA).

This high-fidelity software-hardware integration platform is a cutting-edge Electronic Pilot Simulator designed to accelerate the development and flight-testing of India's next-generation indigenous fighter jets: the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) and the Tejas Mk-2.

Key Functions and Strategic Impact
The Simulation Testbed is a sophisticated virtual environment that essentially creates a "digital twin" of an aircraft's fly-by-wire architecture.

Emulating Human Pilot Behavior: The system doesn't just simulate flight dynamics; it incorporates proprietary Man-Machine Interface (MMI) algorithms to emulate a human pilot's decision-making loop, including subtle stick and throttle adjustments, sensor data interpretation, and instinctive responses under stress.

Virtual Flight Testing: Engineers can "fly" a fully digital version of the aircraft within immersive simulations, replicating real-world pilot inputs and environmental stressors like turbulence, high-G maneuvers, and electronic warfare jamming.
