When you decide is time to install a Basketball Hoop at Home, the installation is not too complicated in my opinion as a handyman; I do however recommend you have someone helping you for the heavy lifting part of the service that requires two people.

On this particular Basketball Hoop customer wanted to install, he wanted to go in the Ground at Home; and not mounted on a wall like you see on some homes. To do this we wanted to agree on a spot that had no wires or pipes under the dirt so is easier to dig the hole.

This basketball hoop did not weight much compared to other models, and so the manufacture recommended depth was 2 feet under ground; what I did instead was go 3 feet deep instead though considering that this basketball hoop adjusted up and down on the net side so we took advantage of that feature to go deeper for a stronger hold.

Even though you can go deep about 4 feet to make the post sturdy, I do recommend to also add rocks with cement to harden the foundation; in addition as shown on my video you see that I created a small concrete block around the post to help it see well from ground up.

We could have installed the hoop into the concrete floor, however the customer and I did not want to drill a hole to where it would have complicated the simplicity of the project; instead we decided to add it right next to it however.

We finished the project by adding rocks around the basketball hoop after installation to give the area a nicer look. Installing the top parts was a bit challenging alone and so I had to bring in one of my handyman partners to help out.
