A new military academy that will train an entire generation of Afghan warriors to become military leaders has formally opened in Afghanistan. The Afghan officers' academy in Kabul is staffed by British mentors and is based on Sandhurst. This will be the only British military contribution to Afghanistan when combat troops leave Helmand next year.
