MATERIALS:
Canvas: 16x20 stretched primed canvas
Brushes: 1/2 inch flat bristle brush, #10 round, #2 round brush
Acrylic Paint: titanium white, burnt umber (brown), chrome yellow, green oxide, mars black, fire red, cobalt blue
Other: #2 pencil, cup of water for washing brushes, paper towel for drying brushes

STEPS:
1. #2 pencil - Sketch the parrot
2. 1/2 inch bristle brush - Paint the first layer of the jungle with black and green
3. #2 round brush - Paint first layer of face with black and gray
4. #10 round brush - Paint red areas of bird with red and brown
5. #10 round brush - Paint the yellow feathers with yellow and white
6. #10 round brush - Paint the blue feathers with blue, red and white
7. #10 round brush - Paint the plants with green, yellow and white
8. #2 round brush - Finish the face and head with black, white, red and yellow
9. #10 round brush - Paint the branch with black, brown and white
10. #2 round brush - Paint the eyes with red, yellow, green and white
11. #2 round brush - Paint the claw with black and white
12. #2 round brush - Sign with black

SEQUILHOS DE COCO COOKIE RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
4 cups cornstarch
2 ounces freshly grated coconut
1 3⁄4 cups sugar
1 egg
1 pinch salt
1 1⁄2 cups margarine

INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 375° F.
Sift together cornstarch and sugar.
Add coconut, salt, egg and margarine.
Form a 2 inch dough ball then pat down on prepared cookie sheet.
Use the tines of a fork to make grooves on the top of the cookies.
Bake for 12-15 minutes.
Let cool completely.
