Irish Legend Rob Strong looks back on his amazing career when he started out in the showband scene in the 1960s in Derry , fronting iconic band The Plattermen from Omagh and his own Rob Strong Band right up to 2022. Video includes five TV clips of Rob performing in 1982, 1986, 1988, 2007 and 2018 , with footage also of recent performances in 2020, 2021 & 2022.

Video begins in 1982 with Gerry Ryan introducing Rob and his six piece band on RTE's 'Non Stop Pop Show' with 'We had it all' , continuing to 1986 with Rob and Colm Wilkinson (Les Miserables etc) singing 'I got my mojo working' , 1988 on 'Saturday Night Live' with 'You've lost that lovely feelin' with the RTE Concert Orchestra , 2007 on TG4 singing 'Willow Tree' , 2018 with another Irish legend Don Baker singing 'Fool for ya Baby' on RTE 's Today programme. Rob recalls his earliest days in Derry and Omagh when he replaced Brian Coll as lead singer of the iconic band The Plattermen, as he reels in the years across six decades on the road in Ireland !

In November 2021 Rob Strong and The Plattermen were honoured with a civic reception by Fermanagh & Omagh District Council which took place before The Rob Strong Band's concert in The Strule Arts Centre in Omagh. In 2023 plans are in place for Rob to be be honoured by his hometown of Derry at a concert to be confirmed shortly.
