Welcome back to another episode here at Full Throttle!! This is a re edit from an original episode that was on the channel a few years ago. The audio has ben restored and the only way to fix was to reupload. Thank you for your continued support.

I will be covering the procedure of removing and repairing my command control knob in my W204 Mercedes C63 AMG that saved me over $300!! The removal will be the same for all W204 models and will be similar in all other models. The physical repair of the control knob will be the exact same for all models using this command controller. FUN FACT! The replacement part was around $20 and I found $32 of change under the center console. I actually Made $12 by doing this repair!!

Symptoms of Fault would be rotating knob with response on the monitor. Knob works up-down-left-right but no rotation. When the wheel is turned, no reaction on the screen will be shown. All other functions such as confirming and tilting the controller are given. The Fault: A plastic shaft within the scroller knob unit snaps causing the scroll function to no longer work on the screen. This is a very common fault on these vehicles and is a very simple solution without spending hundreds on a new unit. The solution is to order a new aluminum shaft to replace the oem plastic one. This will restore the function of the scrolling feature in your control knob. Please see affected vehicles below.
