Beautiful South Saskatchewan Great Sandhills

25 mins from the Dusty Compass Museum & Gift Shop in Liebenthal, SK is the Great Sand Hill Dunes! A great escape to soak up some sunshine and the sounds of natural ranchlands of the prairie sage fields. Choose a dry day to and take a drive down "Straw Road" which is a sandy trail off the 321 SK East, that is soft and plush and better travelled when dry.
Get out of your vehicle for a stretch and be brave to leave your shoes at your vehicle and walk the paths barefoot.
It is recommended to bring a water along with you because the desert air can become an inferno with the Sun's rays hitting the Quartz particles.

Take the hike to the top and rest in the sand, enjoying the view for miles in a 360• direction all around the hills.

There are many various prairie plants, and living creatures that call the sandhills their home!
