In this commentary video I discuss how quality designs and improved materials and construction are trickling down into the affordable knife market in important new ways. I highlight how the venerable tool steel D2 is now commonly found in sub $50 knives, as well as improved sculpted pocket clips and better opening mechanisms. I highlight it with two knives not previously featured on the channel that I think represent excellent value at $50, the CRKT Pilar in G10 w/ D2 steel and the Civivi Wyvern by WE Knives.
