Описание к видео ACHAT SHA'ALTI (Duet for Elul) - אַחַת שָׁאַלְתִּי - Lea K & Rabbi T feat. Coleen Dieker

Achat Sha'alti from Psalms 27
Melody by Israel Katz
This arrangement borrows from Andrew Bernard's "Duet for Elul", adding the words of Esah Einai.

The month of Elul is a chance for reflection and introspection, leading into Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur. This Psalm is recited as part of a daily practice. The Psalmist's one request is to dwell in the house of Adonai. What's your one request, one desire, one question for this time?

Lyrics:
Achat sha'alti me'eit Adonai, otah avakesh
shivti b'veit Adonai, kol y'mei chayai,
lachazot b'noam Adonai, u'l'vaker b'heikhalo.

Translation:
One thing I ask of Adonai, one thing I desire
That I might dwell in Your house all the days of my life
To behold the graciousness of Adonai, and to enter God's sanctuary.
