I managed to reach a couple of out of the way areas, but there's nothing special there sadly. One has a locked gate but I think it blocks just a single room with no other exists...

The trick is to hold onto Trico's leg at its lowest point, so when it jumps up to a platform or column you can let go and see whether there is anywhere else to explore. Most of the time there is nowhere to go, but I haven't finished exploring every area yet.
