How an Average Canadian Like Me Can Afford a Tesla!

**If you disagree with how I've financed my Tesla, please read my explanation at the ** below!
This is my first video about owning a Tesla. There are many videos out there, but I still get many questions from people and I'd like to share my experiences owning this car with you! I'm Canadian and so cold weather performance will also be good to document. Our car is a Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus (rear wheel drive). We bought it at the start of the Covid lockdown in Canada (March/April 2020). It's an incredible experience driving it, as so many seem to agree! I will record the costs (and lack of costs!) while driving this car. Oh, if you happen to buy one and wouldn't mind using our referral code, feel free to give Tesla ours, it gives us both 1500km of free supercharging! https://ts.la/alana92210 thanks :)

** Some people feel I've made a big mistake adding $50,000 to my mortgage. I've done the math, and I still am happy with my decision. I pay a small amount more per month, and I own a Tesla that is saving me MORE money per month (because I no longer buy gas) than my monthly payment is! Over a 20 year mortgage at 2% interest, you are paying a $10,660 in interest. If you get a car loan at 4.25% over 6 years, you are paying $6671.92 in interest. Here's the thing: putting the Tesla on the mortgage costs you $252.75/month. Taking a car loan will be $787.11/month. Many of us can't afford such a huge car loan per month. Those of you that can, lucky you! Driving the Tesla has been worth it (almost a year now). I was emitting almost a bathtub full of gasoline into the atmosphere each month as well, so allowing this car to be within reach for a middle income person like myself has been an experience I am STILL very excited about.
