A Poem for Robin

Описание к видео A Poem for Robin

This piece is not dedicated to Robin, the remarkable watercolor artist whose work you see here, although she is worthy of such a gesture, but to another Robin, our friend Robin, for whom a poem and a song are long overdue. Robin, like me, is from Northern California, where we both grew up. These scenes of Mt Diablo are etched in every Northern Californian's memories, carried like treasures in our cells' memories. Robin's beauty is of identical caliber and lustre.

This montage features the remarkable watercolors of plein air painter Robin Purcell (http://robinpurcellpaints.blogspot.com/) and two Japanese woodcuts of unknown origin and a third, the stary night, by Inari Krohn. It also features an excerpt from the work of poet Khalil Gibran, whom our generation grew up with. The music is my own composition played on a Takamine 6-string acoustic electric guitar pushed through a Yamaha THR-5 modelling amp, mixed in Audacity.
