🔍 Two Main Presentation Patterns

1️⃣ A noticeable lump in the neck
– Usually low in the front of the neck
– Often present for months before investigation
– May lead to diagnosis of thyroid cancer

2️⃣ Incidental findings on scans
– Nodules discovered during imaging done for other reasons (e.g., neck pain)
– Becoming increasingly common in clinical practice

🧪 What happens next?

Depending on what is found, your specialist may arrange:
✔ Ultrasound
✔ Fine-needle aspiration biopsy
✔ Blood tests
✔ Specialist referral

Early assessment is key to identifying whether a nodule is harmless or requires treatment.
