Chengdu street food is everywhere. Any way you look you will find small hole in the wall shops and food carts adorning the streets. Chengdu is famous for its Sichuan peppercorn.

The peppercorn influences most dishes in this city. The Sichuan Peppercorn has an numbing effect on the mouth. Some have said it has the same effect as licking the end of 9v battery.
