i got my chance to familiarize with Reaper and DaVinci Resolve through this project. this song from Kikuo has a very English meter so i threw myself at spending some time thinking about how to come up with the lyrics to match the meter of the singing melody while not deviating too far from the original meaning. i hope you enjoy some of the rhymes i solved.

I recorded my voice using my Zoom H2N on M/S mode with stereo disabled, effectively making it a cardioid mic. I put my Uniqlo head/neck gaiter over it to act as a pop filter. The vocals were (heavily) processed via Celemony Melodyne to make myself sound decent :) I also used iZotope Trash 2 with the preset "Knives Knives Knives" (what a coincidence!) with some slight modifications. The rest were just the usual EQing, compressing (most of which was handled by iZotope Nectar), reverb and also pitch/format-shifted 12 semitones up panned left/right for completion. I planned to do a synth solo to replace the original guitar solo but I think it'll take too much of my time and I plan to make use of the rest of my Melodyne free trial. On the DaVinci Resolve side, it was my first project and it felt pretty intuitive to pick up (coming from little experiences I have with Premier Pro and Vegas) and Fusion was easy to pick up the basics as well.
