In 1945, as the Second World War was nearing its end, Japan, a significant member of the Axis powers, had seen its once dominant position crumble. That year, the Battle of Okinawa, which would decide the course of the war, began. Thousands of determined American soldiers were sent to Okinawa, where they faced heavily fortified enemy defenses and the treacherous terrain of Hacksaw Ridge. Among this group, there was a medic who refused to pick up a weapon. His name was Desmond Doss, hailing from Virginia, USA.

At the outbreak of the Pacific conflict, the frail Desmond volunteered as a combat medic to save lives, but due to his childhood and family beliefs, he steadfastly refused to handle firearms, even at the risk of facing court-martial for his conscientious objection. After numerous trials and tribulations, Desmond Doss found himself at Hacksaw Ridge with his comrades. Amidst the hail of bullets, countless soldiers fell in an instant. With the support of his faith and unwavering beliefs, Desmond Doss, through his sheer determination, single-handedly saved dozens of lives on the brink of death.
