You can set a time to shut down your Windows PC. Sometimes, we forget to shut down our computer after work and the Automatic shutdown feature of Windows can help us in it. Follow these easy steps.
1. On the desktop screen, click on the search bar at the bottom left next to the Start Windows icon.
2. Type task scheduler in the search bar, and in the search result, click on the Task Scheduler App.
3. In the Task Scheduler window, you will find the Actions panel on the right side.
4. Click on the Create Basic Task link.
5. Here, we are going to create an automatic shutdown schedule.
6. Write the name of the task as Automatic Shutdown, and click Next at the bottom.
7. In the Trigger option window, select an option from the list when you want to activate the task. Here, we are selecting the Daily option.
8. Click on the Next button.
9. Select a date, and enter the time when you want to start this program.
10. If you want to trigger the task every day then leave the value 1 in Recur every box.
11. Click on the Next button.
12. Select the radio button of Start a program, and then click on the Next button.
13. Click on the Browse button in the Program/script box and locate the Shutdown.exe file in the C:\Windows\System32 folder.
14. Select the shutdown.exe file, and click on the open button.
15. Click on the Next button at the bottom.
16. You will find the Summary screen, where you can review the automatic shutdown settings.
17. Click on the Finish button.
18. If you want to edit or delete your customized task then in the left side panel, click on the Task Scheduler Library.
19. Select the Automatic Shutdown task name from the middle panel, and right-click on it
20. If you want to edit the settings of your shutdown task then click on Properties from the list.
21. Now, click on the Triggers tab, and then click on the Edit button.
22. Make the required changes here in the Edit Trigger box, and then click on the OK button.
23. Click again on the OK button.
24. If you want to delete your task, then right-click again on the task name, and click on the Delete from the list
25. In the confirmation alert box, click on the Yes button.
26. Your task will be deleted forever and will not execute.
27. Close the Task Scheduler app.
