Two Century Old Boac Cathedral Marinduque | VLOG 54

Описание к видео Two Century Old Boac Cathedral Marinduque | VLOG 54

The Boac Cathedral was built in 1792, making it the oldest standing building in Marinduque. It became a refuge for the locals during the
Spanish-Moro Conflict in the 1800's and was the place where the Philippine Revolutionary flag was blessed in 1899. It is strategically located in
highest part of the town,
overlooking the Boac River and surrounding seas.
The church is another representation of the religiosity of the province, known for preserving its "Moriones Festival" ( the annual lenten rites during the Holy Week.)

Boac is the capital of the island province Marinduque and home to most of the province's commercial businesses. The island is now easily accessible via Cebu Pacific Air that recently launched thrice weekly flights from Manila using its 78-seater ATR 72-600 planes.
