J.S. Bach - Herr, Unser Herrscher, St John Passion, BWV 245 | Epic Metal Version

Описание к видео J.S. Bach - Herr, Unser Herrscher, St John Passion, BWV 245 | Epic Metal Version

An epic metal cover of the opening of Johann Sebastian Bach's 1724 "St John Passion" (BWV 245), I. Coro "Herr, Unser Herrscher".

This was arranged in Logic using mostly Impact Soundworks instruments, along with some bonus choirs from Performance Samples and Zero-G, as well as orchestral instruments from Spitfire Audio and Omnisphere.

St John Passion is one of a number of Passions either fully or partially composed by Bach between 1727 and 1750 during his time as Thomaskantor in Leipzig. A Passion, in this context, refers to the period leading up to the death of Jesus as written in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Some of Bach's most well-known pieces were these Passions, infused with different aspects of Oratorio and flair. Metal arrangement by me.

Text and translation:

Herr, unser Herrscher, dessen Ruhm
In allen Landen herrlich ist!
Zeig uns durch deine Passion,
Daß du, der wahre Gottessohn,
Zu aller Zeit,
Auch in der größten Niedrigkeit,
Verherrlicht worden bist!

Show us, through Your passion,
That You, the true Son of God,
Through all time,
Even in the greatest humiliation,
Lord, our ruler, Whose fame
In every land is glorious!
Have become transfigured!
