七月杪，在国外的时候，就在想今年的国庆日，是不是应该做些什么？往年这个季节，老师们都会带着小朋友到商场、公园或甚至警局，为建设国家尽心尽力的大朋友们演奏一系列爱国歌曲作为感激。今年由于实在忙得抽不出演出的时间（一直在外奔波），加上重重考试考级都迫在眉睫，所以便决定直接制作视频好了。
那么多的爱国歌曲，我个人最喜欢的还是这首80年代脍炙人口的Sejahtera Malaysia。但是因为歌曲年代已久，编曲和能找到的音档品质也不尽人意，所以便马上萌起了重新编曲的念头。结果很快的，完成了第一个版本，开始试唱，然后问同学们谁要参与？
很快的十三名来自吉他班、古筝班、小提琴班的“大”和“小”朋友报到，接着便如火如荼地开始了教唱和录音工作。当然，由于很多小朋友不熟悉这首已有几十年历史的歌曲，所以要学唱也不容易。
完成了录音之后，又回到编曲的部份。在第N个版本的编曲基础上，加上了古筝和小提琴的lead，以让整首歌曲的配乐变得更加丰富。原来只有木吉他、电吉他、低音吉他、中提琴、钢琴和爵士鼓等乐器的组合，加上古筝及小提琴后，终于觉得满意了。
完成了冗长的编辑后制，终于开始进入视频拍摄的部份了。因为同学们都来自不同的学府，不同的年纪，所以在安排日期时间上又是一个挑战。所幸最后大家还是完成了视频拍摄，接着便是视频剪辑了。
再后来，这个视频就面市了。
谢谢所有同学们的付出和努力，就算不是什么大片，但毕竟是大家一起努力的成果。希望在祝贺我们的祖国马来西亚的同时，这个视频也能让大家为年轻岁月留下另外一个记忆。

At the end of July, while we were abroad, we started thinking about whether we should do something special for National Day this year. In previous years, during this season, teachers would take the children to malls, parks, or even police stations to perform a series of patriotic songs as a gesture of gratitude to the adults who work tirelessly to build our nation. This year, due to an incredibly busy schedule with constant travel and looming exams, we decided to create a video instead.
Out of all the patriotic songs, our personal favorite is the widely loved 'Sejahtera Malaysia' from the 1980s. However, because the song is quite old, the arrangement and available audio quality were less than ideal, which inspired us to re-arrange it. Soon enough, we completed the first version, started trying it out, and asked the students who would like to participate.
Thirteen students from the guitar, guzheng, and violin classes quickly signed up, and we enthusiastically began the teaching and recording sessions. Of course, since many of the younger students were unfamiliar with this decades-old song, learning it wasn't easy.
After the recording was done, we returned to work on the arrangement. With the addition of guzheng and violin leads to the Nth version of the arrangement, the music became much richer. Originally, it was a combination of acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, viola, piano, and drums. But with the inclusion of the guzheng and violin, we were finally satisfied.
After the lengthy editing process, we moved on to the video shooting. Coordinating schedules was a challenge since the students were from different schools and of varying ages. Thankfully, we managed to complete the video shoot, followed by the editing.
Finally, the video was released.
We want to thank all the students for their hard work and dedication. It may not be a blockbuster, but it's a product of our collective effort. We hope that as we celebrate our beloved country, Malaysia, this video also gives everyone a cherished memory of their younger years.
