A Bad Day @ Rochelle, IL Railroad Park, 7-18-17

Today I called up my good friend, ClockFreak3 for a fun road trip far beyond Chicagoland to the famous Illinois railroad town of Rochelle where the UP & BNSF main lines intersect. Now on a normal day, you can expect to see 80-90 trains during a 24 hour period, however much to our dismay between 9 and 11:30 am we only saw 4 trains, all of which were Union Pacific. One of them even had a brand new Tier-4 SD70 loco trailing. I don't know if traffic was light or if we were just impatient, but we did hear some background conversations from other railfans who said that Fridays are the best days to be out here. I don't know if this is true. Oh well.. After the fourth train, we drove back home. I hope I can return here soon before I start college. Enjoy.
