Mental, emotional, and social health have long been overlooked as key components of liver cancer care. In this video, oncologist Mark Lewis, MD, Director of Gastrointestinal Oncology at Intermountain Healthcare in Salt Lake City, Utah, discusses why mental health needs to be prioritized as part of a comprehensive approach to treatment, and he suggests several actionable steps people can take to get back on track. In addition to his extensive experience with gastrointestinal oncology, Dr. Lewis is living with a hereditary tumor syndrome himself, and knows firsthand the emotional toll a diagnosis can bring.
