The pinnacles hike is the most popular day hike in coromandel New Zealand. You can complete the hike in a day or can stay in the Pinnacles hut overnight to enjoy the sunrise at the pinnacles. 

This video is special for many reasons. This trip started off as a solo trip as Sagar had gone to the Philippines for work and I was itching to go somewhere on my own, however, I ended up asking some of our friends so this video is going to be without Sagar but with some of our friends. The second reason is, that this is the first time I ever stayed in the hut in New Zealand and the experience was amazing. 
The pinnacles hut is one of the most popular huts in New Zealand and it has 80 bunk beds. We went on this hike at end of June, the winter season and I kid you not, the hut was full. I had never seen so many people in one place in New Zealand haha! 

the other reason was, filming. So whenever we go somewhere Sagar's job is to film everything and then I edit our videos. Without Sagar, I was in solely charge of filming, editing and putting everything together for this vlog. 

The pinnacles is famous for their beautiful sunrise and sunset. There is another 50 minutes of a hike from the pinnacles hut to the summit. We hiked to the summit of the pinnacle to see the sunset. I had been worried about this part ever since I decided to hike to the pinnacles. It is steep, muddy, damp and full of ladders and rocks. It was definitely so sketchy but to my surprise, I was so happy while doing it! but the flip side was, that I was so busy focusing on not falling down and enjoying the sketchy part that I did not do a job filming it. 

the trip became special as we met some fantastic people. Consider this as peer pressure or just fun of it, I found myself again at that sketchy part on the pinnacles in less than 24 hours to see the sunrise. We did not get to see the sunrise as the pinnacles were covered with clouds but it was still magical. 

But at this point, it became less about the sunrise and more about the people we met on the trip. Even though the Pinnacles is famous for its beautiful sunrise and sunset, we did not get either but we did get to meet some fantastic people. Let’s take this guy as an example. He convinced us not only to take a longer route coming down but also almost a skinny dip in the cold river water in the middle of winter. and without a doubt, It became one of the top moments of my travels
