This is the Burlington Route Pioneer Zephyr "9900" 4-car trainset (HO) by Con-Cor and is outfitted with a TCS DP2X motor-only decoder on DCC. The external detailing of the model is VERY nice and the motor is equally smooth. While I'm a NYC modeler, this train is quite intriguing to me - both visually and historically. I will try and post a separate video showing the close-up details of the model.

And sorry about the "pink prairie". My previous NYC layout was taken down a few year ago and this is all that I have at the moment. Once some house projects are addressed and completed, I hope to be able to start on my next "new & improved" NYC layout. I will have to bend some prototypical reality in order to run the Pioneer Zephyr on the layout, since it didn't operate east of Chicago - except during its promotional tour stop across the Northeast & Midwest in the spring of '34. This was right before the famous 1,015 mi "Dawn-to-Dusk" run between Denver and Chicago on May 26, 1934, where the Pioneer Zephyr covered the distance in 13 hrs 5 mins, averaging 77.5 MPH and peaking @ 112.5 MPH.
