First Year and all tagged up: 1952 Gibson Les Paul "Goldtop"

Just in from the niece of its original owner: 1952 Gibson Les Paul Model! This first year Goldtop has survived in really amazing condition and has its original hang tags and clean hardshell case. It's a really nice playing vintage guitar as well on the original trapeze style bridge.

This Les Paul is sold but I'd love to find another one like it: https://truevintageguitar.com/pages/s...

So which bridge configuration do you prefer on your '52 Goldtop Les Paul with low neck pitch? Gibson designed the Les Paul to have the strings wrapped under the tailpiece instead of on top. That can make palm muting a little clumsy and definitely changes the position of your right hand near the bridge. Personally, I still enjoy playing it with this tailpiece, but many players like to install a custom thin/low bridge that allows the strings to wrap over. We would be happy to install one for you if you prefer.

Did you know that 1952 Gibson Les Paul guitars don't have serial numbers? You can learn more about Gibson serial numbers here: https://truevintageguitar.com/blogs/t...
