I recently picked up Golf Club: Wasteland and these are my thoughts on the game.

When I first saw Golf Club: Wasteland, it immediately caught my attention. For those of you who follow along in my gaming journey, you know this is the exact art style that has been sucking me in for years now. That mixed in with the dystopian future, where the earth is nothing more than a golf club for the uber-rich and I was sold. After the initial tutorial, which shows you how to play the game, and a few of the first holes I started having issues making it to the holes. I even had some trouble trying to navigate some of the courses. It was at that point that I began to notice that there are a couple of things Golf Club: Wasteland was lacking in. Why weren’t my shots as precise as I thought they would be? Why was I whiffing it so badly, falling into the same sand traps or toxic lakes over and over and over again? The controller controls even made it harder to keep your power percentage right where you wanted it and it was causing me to go way over par on plenty of the later holes. That’s when I realized, THIS IS’NT A GOLF GAME AT ALL. Once I realized that the game became even more enjoyable.
