Bruce McLaren Tribute ("On Days Like These")

Описание к видео Bruce McLaren Tribute ("On Days Like These")

June 2020 will mark 50 years since Bruce McLaren passed away. Bruce Leslie McLaren (30 August 1937 – 2 June 1970) was a New Zealand race-car designer, driver, engineer and inventor. His name lives on in the McLaren team which has been one of the most successful in Formula One championship history, winning a total of 8 World Constructors' Championships and 12 World Drivers' Championships. McLaren cars dominated CanAm sports car racing with 56 wins, a considerable number of them with him behind the wheel, between 1967 and 1972 (and five constructors' championships), and have won three Indianapolis 500 races, as well as the 24 Hours of Le Mans and 12 Hours of Sebring.
I had so much footage of Bruce it was difficult getting it down to a video under 4 minutes. Unfortunately I didn’t have any audio, so I set the video to the theme song for the 1969 film ‘The Italian Job’ titled “On Days Like These”. I also didn’t have any footage of the Can-Am Series, just in case anyone asks why there’s none in there. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this little tribute I made about a very special New Zealander (also made by a New Zealander:)).
"On Days Like These" was composed by Quincy Jones, written by Don Black, and produced by George Martin. It was first released on Quincy Jones' soundtrack album "The Italian Job" by Paramount Records, as it was written for the 1969 movie of the same name, where it is played prominently in the opening credits, uninterrupted by background soundscape.
