Headline 1 US shoots down Iranian drone approaching aircraft carrier, official says
The Iranian Shahed-139 drone was flying toward the carrier and was shot down by a F-35 US fighter jet.
This provocative move was not the only move Iran made today in the Gulf.

Six Iranian gunboats attempted to stop a US-flagged oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz early Tuesday, US officials and maritime-security sources confirmed to the Wall Street Journal on Tuesday. The vessels ordered the tanker to kill its engines and prepare to be boarded, but the ship sped up and was later escorted to safety by a US warship.
This was seemingly an obvious attempt to take hostages to use as a bargaining chip. It didn’t work!
Headline 3 Iran threatens to withdraw from US talks, requests change of venue to Oman (Jerusalem Post)
Iran has requested changes to the venue and format of nuclear talks with the United States, Axios reported on Tuesday, citing two sources knowledgeable of the matter.
Reuters reported that Iran is seeking to move the talks from Istanbul to Oman. "They want to change the format, they want to change the scope," said the regional diplomat with knowledge of Iran's demands.
"They only want to discuss the nuclear file with the Americans, while the US wants to include other topics such as the (ballistic) missiles and the activities of Iran's proxies in the region."
"It remains to be seen whether the United States intends to engage in serious, results-oriented negotiations," one source commented.
Iran reportedly believes that reaching an agreement on the nuclear issue will cause Trump to abandon the idea of war. The source added to the Post that if there is a nuclear deal, it will probably prevent Israel from conducting strikes against Iran's missile storage facilities.
Iran, as usual, wants to change the rules of the game. Hopefully the U.S. won’t give in to their demands.

Israel has relayed several demands to American negotiators ahead of renewed US nuclear talks with Iran, a senior diplomatic official tells Channel 12 News.
... Israeli officials are insisting that the US not budge on four key demands, including that Iran transfer its highly-enriched material to another country, halt nuclear enrichment completely, cease its production of ballistic missiles and stop funding its proxies in the Middle East.
“Every agreement that does not include these conditions is a bad agreement. This administration has proven its commitment to Israel in every area, and specifically in the Iranian area,” the senior official tells Channel 12.
He adds that “Israel has had influence in the past, and will wield influence this time too” in negotiations between the two powers.
Glad to see Israel encourage the U.S. to do this. If this did not happen, then the Middle East would go back to the same old same old.
Headline 5 Israel asks US for operational freedom in Iran - Kan News
Israel has asked the United States for operational freedom of action in Iran and for steps to curb Tehran’s missile and nuclear activities, Kan News, Israel’s public broadcaster, reported on Tuesday.
In other words, if you don’t attack them, we will!
These are all huge stories. Iran approaches a U.S. carrier with a drone that is shot down. Iranian gunboats attempt to seize a U.S. ship in the gulf. Iran now demands a change of venue and a change of topics for the proposed discussion between them and the U.S. Israel has asked the U.S to demand that Iran stop their ballistic missile program along with their nuclear program and stop funding proxies.
And then, in a profound request, Israel wants operational freedom to act against Iran their nuclear and missile programs.
With these developments it’s beginning to look more likely that we may have a shooting war very soon.
