These are things I have to remind myself of constantly (not the hitting option, but the others).
Because parenting gives us no shortage of chances to mess up.

And in those moments, the ones that don’t go as planned…
I try to come back to one question:

If my child handled this situation the way I just did…
Would I be proud of that?

Would I see patience?Respect?Someone doing their best to stay calm, even when it’s hard?

Because lectures don’t teach that.Consequences don’t teach that.

They learn it by watching us in the messy, ordinary moments we think don’t matter.

And I’m not saying I always get it right.
But I am saying this:

Every time I pause instead of react, and choose kindness, even when I don’t feel like it…

I’m showing them how to do the same.
