ABSTRACT
As humans, we manage the most complex system in the world: our bodies. As engineers and technicians, we have been building and operating some of the most complex systems on Earth and beyond for centuries. However, when we encounter modern cloud applications that serve us in our daily lives, we often find ourselves complaining that they are complicated. We label the communication lines in distributed systems as complex.

Why is that? Are we losing our ingenuity in dealing with modern applications?

This talk will explore the complexities of modern systems and help you understand the various types of complexity, both beneficial and detrimental. It will also provide strategies for effectively managing complexity while building cloud and serverless applications.
