So you’ve gotten your multitrack tape cassette recorder home and you plug it in only to find that it makes a horrible scratchy noise when you turn a knob or push a fader. Yikes! Have no fear though, this is easily fixed. All you need is some contact spray and a bit of patience.

I hope this helps anyone in doubt, confidently service their four track or 8 track multitrack tape recorder.
