WW2 Metal Detecting - Hürtgen Forest

Описание к видео WW2 Metal Detecting - Hürtgen Forest

Welcome back to a new video this time we went to Germany. on a one day trip we went to the famous Hürtgen Forest where we were curious to see if there are any traces of the war still visible in the ground. with searching with our metal detectors we soon ended up with a successful day!

The Battle of Hürtgen Forest (German: Schlacht im Hürtgenwald) was a series of battles fought from 19 September to 16 December 1944, between American and German forces on the Western Front during World War II, in the Hürtgen Forest, a 140 km2 area about 5 km east of the Belgian–German border. It was the longest battle on German ground during World War II and is the longest single battle the U.S. Army has ever fought.

One thing we'd like to address, In the Hürtgen Forest it is forbidden to search with the metal detector, if you do it is your own risk to get caught. We have searched a piece of private forest of an acquaintance of ours in addition, we also have a permit, we do not want to encourage anyone to just go and search in places where it is not allowed if you do so, the risks of being caught are high. All holes dug are also back to their original state and no nature is further damaged after our visit!
