Middle-East Crisis: Iran shuts down airspace, cancels flights for 9 hours amid escalating tensions

Amid escalating tensions, Iran’s civil Aviation Organisation made a big announcement on October 06. Iran’s Civil Aviation Organisation announced a temporary shutdown of its airspace from 9 pm on Sunday until 6 am local time (0230 GMT) on Monday. All Flights from Iran’s airports will be cancelled for over nine hours, reported Reuters citing spox for Iran’s Civil Aviation Organisation. Iran’s move came amid a series of intensified Israeli strikes decimating Hezbollah’s top leadership. In response, Hezbollah had also launched several attacks on Israel, escalating the chances of a wider conflict. The two sides have been engaged in cross-border hostilities, since last October.
