Wightwick Manor (pronounced Witt-ick, notw Wight-wick as I thought) is a glourious estate owned by the National Trust in the West Midlands, just outside of Wolverhampton. Although possibly the most recent hall I've visited, being built in the late 1800s, its got a great victorian design that is just timeless.

The estate was a centre point of the Arts and Crafts movement and this can be seen in the furnishings. It is decked out in classic Morris Wallpaper and contains a wealth of art, embroideries and carvings. You can tell this house was designed to be shown off and enjoyed.

Due to the protection of some of the art and building a lot of the rooms are quite dark. This is to keep the sunlight from damaging the delicate pieces. When I visited there was also conservation work being undertaken on the exterior of the building. While it does lessen the view a bit, the work is essential to ensure the building can be enjoyed by future generations.

As well as the manor the estate also contains 17 acres of gardens and woodland, which I walk around in a future video. The woodland has a great little adventure playground for any young (or young at heart) visitors.

Being a national trust propety you also get a the standard tea room, gift shop, book shop and toilet facilities. Wightwick also includes an art gallery. Parking is plentiful and the main routes are easily accesable for people with mobility issues. Although the upper floors of the house and some of the paths in the woods may not be suitable.
