My Medieval Tavern

Описание к видео My Medieval Tavern

I built this with some friends back in January of 2018 so we could have a place to play DnD. More accurately, the initial idea was to build an insulated room in my barn so I could work on projects out there in the winter, but since we were just starting our first DnD campaign, it quickly morphed into a medieval tavern of sorts. We made everything, from framing up the walls, to the furniture.
This week, I put my house on the market, so we made this short video to commemorate all the good times building and playing in this place.
More details:
The door is based on The Doors of Durin, also known as the West-gate, the West-door of Moria, or Elven Door, were built into the Walls of Moria in the dark cliffs of the Silvertine, and formed the western entrance to the great Dwarven city of Khazad-dûm. We made it from cheap 2x6 lumber, and woodburned the design in it.
The alchemy table is as close as I could make to a replica of the one in Skyrim. It was a major pain to track down the chemistry glassware, so if anyone wants to do something similar and needs help finding the names of it, I'm your guy.
The TV is on a movable arm, and has a recessed cubbyhole in the wall that you can push it back into, and their is a map mounted on barn door hardware that will cover it up. The map on the wall is of Faerün from Dungeons & Dragons, and the emblem on the TV is of The Lords of Ankledeep, which was the name of our adventuring group.
The table was made by gluing up 2x6 boards, pretty much like the door. I used some fancy joinery on the legs, which I'm pretty proud of.
For the shelves and cupboards, I went to the local sawmill, and asked to buy some of their offcuts. The owner was amazing, and gave me a massive load of fancy live-edge wood for just $5. And I mean massive; my car was practically sraping the road as I drove home. They contain a variety of fantasy junk I've collected over the years, from Gandalf's pipe to Harry's wand. One cupboard is full of "potions", aka liquor in potion bottles with tea stained labels. You can see some of the extra ones on the bar.
The bar was another favorite of mine. It's made of the same live-edge wood from the sawmill, and is sized to hold a minifridge and cabinet. Very convenient for storing drinks, utensils, and random gaming equipment.
Thank you to Casen, John, and Natalie for building this with me, and sharing in the adventures we had there.
