Huge update for UPSC 2026-exam candidates! The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has made face authentication mandatory at UPSC examination centres. This means that on exam day, every candidate will be required to undergo AI-based facial recognition before entering the exam hall.

This is part of UPSC’s effort to strengthen security, stop impersonation and fraud, and speed up identity verification at exam centres. The system was successfully pilot-tested during NDA and CDS 2025 examinations, where facial authentication reduced verification time to just 8–10 seconds per candidate.
