Ever screamed at your television as you see your team cowardly bringing on the punting unit instead of going for the obvious fourth down? Well you're not alone, so today Thinking football present to you ‘Why you should never punt’ the first episode of our new series FOOTBALL THEORY

We break down the mathematics of why punting is stupid and that all coaches are making a mathematically incorrect choice by choosing to punt so often. Coach Kevin Kelley of Pulaski Academy joins us to give first hand evidence of why football teams shouldnt punt, having implemented this system over a decade ago at his highschool in Arkansas. Coach Kelleys offense finished first in yards in the country last season, beating out 16,000 other high schools with 647 yards per game. We quiz him on some of the biggest questions when it comes to no punting, as well as look at the reasons speculated by Cal economist David Romer on why coaches continue to punt.
